Final Christmas Newsletter 2023
Happy Christmas to you all!
Where do we start? It has been a full term with so many activities happening here at Little Cakes!
We have enjoyed almost every season in the past term from colourful autumnal walks to sunny wintery days to hurricanes and thunderstorms! All of which have been a topic of discussion with the pre-school children.
Our forest school sessions have involved the use of more tools as our children become more confident in using peelers, drill bits and a mini saw! We will hopefully try and whittle some more sticks for toasting marshmallows!
We held our first grandparents 'stay and play' which was a lovely event to allow any grandparents to spend some time with their grandchild either crafting, reading or role playing! We also opened up our staff room for some cake and tea which we hope they all managed to enjoy.
Mrs Chauhan and Mrs Singhe took a small group of children to visit the Burford Care Home in Chorleywood. The children decorated crafts and sang Christmas songs with the residents. They also shared some of their Christmas story books for the residents to read with them. The children were chatting away and also enjoyed looking at the large fish tank!
The baby room children have enjoyed going on some walks out on the larger grounds. They have enjoyed exploring icy leaves and looking at all the bugs that come out in the rain! They have had some fun with different sensory play using oats and rice. The baby room children have been practicing their Christmas songs which will be recorded for the parents to watch.
